Tickets go at nine on Friday morning, and they won't hang about. [Kaiser Chiefs play the Open Air Theatre on 11 June 2027](https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/26566515.kaiser-chiefs-headline-scarborough-open-air-theatre/?ref=scarboroughinsider.co.uk), joining Simply Red and Ronan Keating on a bill that seems to fill up earlier every year. Set an alarm if you want anything decent. [Tickets Here.](https://ticketmaster.tpk.lv/8pnpLKH3?ref=scarboroughinsider.co.uk)

The council has bought eleven homes in Scarborough under its £18 million temporary housing scheme, now expanded to 112 properties across North Yorkshire. Officials have rejected claims circulating online that [the houses are for asylum seekers,](https://www.thisisthecoast.co.uk/news/local-news/claims-asylum-seekers-will-be-housed-in-new-council-properties-rejected-as-18m-scheme-approved/?ref=scarboroughinsider.co.uk) saying they're for families the council would otherwise be putting into bed and breakfasts.

The Spa Cliff Lift might come back in stages. Officers are [seriously considering a phased reopening](https://www.thescarboroughnews.co.uk/news/politics/council/phased-reopening-of-scarboroughs-victorian-cliff-lift-being-seriously-considered-9158663?ref=scarboroughinsider.co.uk) after August's safety shutdown, with councillors pushing for a shuttle bus until something happens. There's no timeline, and nobody has put a figure on the repairs. The thing cost about £8,000 to build in 1875.

If you get to the end, let us know what you made of it with the **thumbs-up or thumbs-down** buttons. And do **leave a comment** \- we read all of them.
